716 CommUNITY Day

The fourth annual day of free food, resources, and connection for Buffalo’s East Side at MLK Jr. Park.

716 CommUNITY Day got its start in 2022, born out of a moment when Buffalo’s East Side needed its neighbors most. Trusted Nurse Staffing and CEO Martin Vidal answered with a free community event, and from that beginning grew what is now Trusted Talent’s charitable arm and its signature day of giving back.

This past July 16, 2025, that tradition continued at MLK Jr. Park in Buffalo, where the fourth annual 716 CommUNITY Day brought free resources, food, and connection to East Side families from 3 to 7 p.m. Since the event’s second year, Tops has stood alongside us as presenting sponsor, with Dion’s Dreamers joining as an integral partner that same year — both have returned every year since to help make this day possible. We owe Tops and Dion’s Dreamers our deepest appreciation; their continued contributions are truly what have allowed this event to grow year after year. Together with volunteers and community partners, the day delivered 1,400 bottles of water (all kept out of the landfill), 50 bikes and 130 bike helmets, and 800 toiletry bags. The event served 2,000 free hot meals and distributed 700 cases of fresh produce, while a free clothing closet gave neighbors what they needed at no cost. Health and wellness took center stage too: 71 attendees learned hands-only CPR, and the community connected with 75 health and wellness resources aimed at supporting long-term wellbeing.

Every bike handed to a child, every bag of fresh produce, every hug shared on the lawn reflects what 716 CommUNITY Day has become: a celebration of a community that shows up for itself, year after year, supported by partners who believe in that mission just as deeply. Now in its fourth year, the event stands as proof that Buffalo’s East Side is defined not by what happened in 2022, but by the resilience, generosity, and connection its neighbors bring to the table every summer.
